Prior to Christmas SHN ran a call for interest campaign asking if any RSLs would be interested in being our trial RSL for the Housing Options Toolkit. This involved landlords submitting a short 200-word statement on why they think they should be the chosen RSL.


We are now delighted to announce that Orkney Housing Association has been the chosen landlord.


The polit will involve 2 staff members from Orkney HA working through the toolkit and giving direct feedback to SHN after each module. This feedback will then be communicated to the Toolkit Governance Board who will make the final decision on any changes that are to be made before rolling it out to other RSLs.


Meantime, the feedback we have received from our Local Authority users (of which there are over 2000) has been very positive.  A User Analysis Report carried out by Aurion in December 2025 reported that Local Authority users rated the toolkit a 4 out of 5 stars.


Stating that “Overall, the toolkit has been well-received, offering a comprehensive and informative learning experience that is particularly beneficial for new staff in housing-related roles.”
