100% funding opportunity to improve social housing retrofit programmes.

The Social Housing Retrofit Challenge has been developed by Scottish Enterprise (SE), is fully funded by the Scottish Government (SG), and aims to support social housing landlords to optimise the efficiency and quality of their retrofit programmes


The retrofit challenge is looking to provide support and funding to a small number of social housing providers which will help then to identify and robustly evaluate solutions from the supply chain that can reduce the cost of social housing retrofit programmes and improve their quality too.


The retrofit challenge will support social landlords who are looking for improved whole house retrofit solutions to particular housing archetypes in their portfolio, but we are also keen to support social landlords who are interested in improving elements of the retrofit solution too.


E.g., do you have challenges related to the external insulation system? Do you want to explore improved low carbon heating systems, or storage solutions? Are you interested in how to apply low carbon heating systems to multi occupancy dwellings, or a street level?


The retrofit challenge programme is flexible and able to provide support to help you find and evaluate retrofit solutions at a whole house archetype level or focus in on particular systems or components where you feel that there is scope to improve upon what current suppliers are providing.


If successful, the retrofit challenge call could cover 100% of the costs, up to £350K, to find and validate improved solutions from the supply chain that are customised to your needs and validated within your specific retrofit programmes.


We aim to launch the Fund towards the end of this calendar year and before then we are keen to confirm if this is of interest to you and ensure it meets your needs.
