Housing Options Toolkit Training user figures are up!
Scotland’s Housing Network are delighted to report that Housing Options Toolkit user figures are up 10% since the launch of the last 3 modules at the end of March 2024. The top 2 user Landlords were asked why they think they have been so successful in staff engaging in this training. Here’s what they said
‘We have been setting aside time at our Service Development Sessions. We have 2.25 hours each month for training and we have been using this time once a quarter for the Toolkit.
We have also been encouraging staff to use time during the working week to look at this as well.
It’s a slow progress but good to see the numbers increasing’.
Pamela Newey, South Lanarkshire Council
‘We made it a condition that all existing staff and anyone joining the Options & Homelessness team completes the toolkit. We see the value of it in terms of the range of information that is provided and as a reference tool when modules have been completed. It is a way that we can ensure that everyone has the same basic knowledge.
We supported existing staff by giving them protected time to complete the first 3 modules and by setting a target for completion that was realistic. We are doing the same for the new modules.
New starts are encouraged to use time during their induction period, and whilst they are being trained in role specific tasks, to complete the modules’.
Lorraine Stewart, Team Leader, Aberdeenshire Council
