Social Housing Net Zero Standard Consultation
The Social Housing Net Zero Standard Consultation was publisehd on the 28 November 2023. This consultation seeks views on a new Social Housing Net Zero Standard (SHNZS) in Scotland. This new standard will replace the second Energy Efficiency Standard for Social Housing (EESSH2).
The cost estimates provided suggest a total cost per house of around £14,000 and whilst there are some broad statements about sources of support there is no attempt to set out the possible impact on rents or investment capacity, including capacity to support the new build programme. The consultation period closes on 8 March 2024 and full details can be found here.
The final report of the Tenement Short Life Working Group: energy efficiency and zero emissions heating has also been published and can be found here.
