Scotland’s Housing Network is delighted to announce that the Housing Options Training Toolkit (HOTT) is now available to housing association staff in Scotland. In December 2025 the Toolkit Governance Advisory Board gave the green light to roll-out the Toolkit to housing associations across Scotland. The Toolkit has been operating since 2022 but to date has mainly been available to Local Authority staff in Scotland.


The Housing Options Training Toolkit is a learning and development, training and resource platform. Developed specifically for individuals to aid them in providing housing options advice in Scotland and assist in preventing homelessness. The platform offers six on-line learning modules:


    

  1. Introduction to Housing Options
    2. 

  2. Accessing Housing
    3. 

  3. Keeping People in their Current Homes
    4. 

  4. Health & Wellbeing
    5. 

  5. Income & Affordability
    6. 

  6. Supporting Employability
    7. 



The Toolkit is being made available to housing associations on the basis of a small annual charge per user registered for the Toolkit.
