Waverly Housing – Join the Board

5 August 2026

Help shape the future of affordable housing in the Scottish Borders

Good homes change lives. At Waverley Housing we’re committed to providing affordable, high-quality homes and supporting thriving communities across the Scottish Borders. We’re looking for new voluntary Board Members to help guide us through the opportunities and challenges ahead.

As a member of our Board, you’ll play an important role in setting the strategic direction of a respected Registered Social Landlord and charity. You’ll work alongside fellow Board Members and our Leadership Team to make decisions that have a lasting impact on our tenants, communities and the future provision of affordable homes in the area.

From investing in existing homes to responding to Scotland’s housing emergency, embracing new opportunities and keeping tenants at the heart of everything we do, you’ll help to shape the future of Waverley Housing.

We’re looking for people who:

  • Enjoy working collaboratively and listening to different perspectives
  • Share our commitment to providing affordable homes and excellent services
  • Are willing to accept collective responsibility for decisions
  • Value equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Offer relevant personal, professional or lived experience

You don’t need previous Board experience. If you bring an aptitude for strategic decision-making and a commitment to making a positive difference to people’s lives, we’ll provide a full induction, training and ongoing support.

A full description of the skills, knowledge and qualities we’re seeking is available in our Board Member recruitment pack. We welcome applications from people with a wide range of backgrounds and experience. We’re particularly interested in hearing from people with housing management or asset management experience. However, we’d welcome applications from anyone who shares our drive to ensure everyone has a safe, affordable place to call home.

If you’d like to use your skills to make a lasting difference to people in the Scottish Borders, we’d love to hear from you

Please send your CV and a short cover letter outlining how you meet the skills, knowledge and qualities outlined here to our Executive Support Officer, June Wilson: June.Wilson@waverley-housing.co.uk

If you would like to find out more about this opportunity before applying, our Chief Executive, Paul Scott, would welcome the opportunity to speak to you. To arrange a call with Paul, please contact June using the email address above or call us on 01450 364200
