About

This Forum is concerned with all aspects of older people’s housing, from the strategic functions of assessing current and future demand in an area and ensuring that there is appropriate provision, to developing and managing housing that is specifically for older people. This generally involves measures to meet additional needs, whether these be mobility issues, other physical health issues, or mental health concerns of loneliness, isolation and dementia.

Annual Gathering 2024: Developing Housing for Ageing in partnership workshop

The Goathill project was an ambitious initiative to meet the varying needs of the island’s population, with particular emphasis on the elderly. This presentation provides an overview of the process of partnership working that allowed the development delivered a 52 bed residential care home, 50 housing with extra care flats at Bremner Court, 58 homes for social rent, and 16 Homes for sale through the shared equity scheme at Sinclair Avenue.
