Framework Agreement between Scottish Ministers and the Scottish Housing Regulator
This framework document is agreed between the Scottish Housing Regulator and the Scottish Ministers. It recognises the fundamental independence of the Scottish Housing Regulator and sets out how the organisation will work with the Scottish Government (SG), and the key roles and responsibilities of:
• the Board
• the Chief Executive and Accountable Officer of the Scottish Housing Regulator;
• the Scottish Ministers; and
• the Portfolio Accountable Officer within the SG whose remit includes liaison with the Scottish Housing Regulator.
While this document does not confer any legal powers or responsibilities, it is a formal agreement between the Scottish Ministers and the Scottish Housing Regulator, and as a live document it should be reviewed by SG and the Scottish Housing Regulator at least every 2-3 years.
