The Energy Efficiency (Private Rented Property) (Scotland) regulations 2020: ICIA
The Island (Scotland) Act 2018 places a duty on the Scottish Ministers and other relevant authorities, including a number of public authorities, to have regard to island communities in exercising their functions, and for the Scottish Minister this will also include the development of legilsation. This duty is often referred to as ‘island proofing’.
In recognition of the importance of island-proofing, this islands assessment is being prodcued to highlight issues raised from the consultation and other issues that were highlighted by the consultation of the Fuel Poverty Bill which are particularly relevant to island communitites, and explain mitigating action aimed to address these issues.
This publication includes both the Island Communities Impact Assessment (ICIA) for the Energy Efficiency (Domestic Private Rented Property) (Scotland) regulations 2020 and draft associated guidance. There is a lot of detail including the consultation process and responses to the
points raised by the communities themselves.
