Innovation Challenge for Social Housing
Scottish Enterprise has announced the five projects to be funded through their Can Do Green Heat Retrofit Innovation Challenge. The fund will provide the five successful projects over £300k in to Maximise efficiency and quality in social housing retrofit for the benefits of the tenants and the environment. The successful bidders are: Perth and Kinross Council’s project for a pioneering green heat solution in Crieff’s Colville House; West Dunbartonshire Council tackling low-carbon heating and hot water systems in multi-story flats; Yorkhill Housing Association bringing low carbon heating and hot water to housing for older people; Castlehill Housing Association upgrading independent living housing with and integrated energy and low carbon heating solution and Aberdeenshire Council examining options to connect social housing to an existing heat network powered by deep geothermal energy.
