The Provision of British Sign Language Services by social landlords in Scotland
The latest thematic study from the SHR is part of their work programme around the implementation of the British Sign Language (Scotland) Act 2015 is published today (13 September 2024). The act require Councils and some other public bodies to publish a BSL Plan; “to set out measures to be taken by the listed authority in relation to the use of British Sign Language in connection with the exercise of the authority’s functions”. The thematic study is based around a review of council and RSL web sites and some work commissioned from the British Deaf Association.
